>> Babylon

Babylon is where Istanbul meets good music. Babylon is Turkey’s premier live music venue, staging top international acts from the jazz, world, reggae, electronica, and Latin music scenes five nights a week.

With its acoustic and architectural design, as well as professional technical infrastructure, Babylon is the concrete playground of music lovers in the know. Istanbul natives will agree that they think of their social lives in terms of the Pre-Babylon and Post-Babylon years. Babylon is “the” meeting point, providing access to culturally enriching artistic endeavors and musical styles. So current is Babylon’s programming, many find that the band they have just discovered has already played the venue or is on the Bablylon calendar. Formerly a land of cobble-stone alleys and skid row poets, the Asmalimescit/Tunel enclave has become the preferred hangout of highbrow urban dwellers since the area has been spruced up to accommodate Babylon patrons.

In 2002 and 2004 Babylon was chosen as one of the “Best 100 Jazz Clubs” in the world by Downbeat magazine. The world of Babylon is open to all, populated by 400-500 global souls on the most crowded nights. Babylon Turns Istanbul On.
